Don't want to get into the politics of r/r and tuners, that's why i said all r/r are subjective, just a bit of fun, as long as im happy with how my car runs( i don't give a **** about the figures) i will be happy.

230bhp at the wheels at 6000rpm
276lb/ft torque at the wheels from 2000rpm

99.8mph and 15.003 on the 1/4 mile (fluffed the start - 1st attempt at a 1/4)

Don't even go there with 'at the flywheel' (see the whole saga on the BSR thread in the mods section) saw a guy on a Seat Forum who had:

260bhp at the crank (23bhp loss to the wheels) stock

then the company chipped his car and immediately dynoed it again...

305bhp at the crank (43bhp loss at the wheels!)

How the **** does a gearbox suddenly suffer an extra 20bhp loss? he sounded happy on his post not realised the company had 'persuaded him' he had gained 20bhp more than he really had!

From all the reading I've done I've never really seen a chip alone on a regular turbo car give much more than 10% power gain at the wheels.

Most day to day driving is done at lower revs anyway - had a guy try and race me out of a 30 limit after overtaking me in the limit and slowing right down to 20 right in front of me - caught in third due to missing the deristriction sign at under 2000 rpm and reeled him easy by riding the torque. (was a hyundia coupe 2litre or 2.7) that's satisfying driving!

That depends on where the peak power is on the graph. The higher the rpm in the gear you are testing in, the greater the drag loss in the tyres, transmission etc. For example, it's quite possible that the 260 hp was at 5500 rpm and the 305 hp was at 6500 rpm. This would give the 305 hp run a higher drag loss at peak power than the 260 hp run. This could therefore be a perfectly genuine result. The actual losses vary from dyno to dyno, but what is common to all dynos is that the higher the rpm in the gear you are testing in, the greater the drag loss. Since drag loss is exponential, this effect is more pronounced the further up you go in the rev range.

i would say 265 to 275 whp that would be around 300 bhp fly but remember with the m59 box and r clutch your car should be pretty dam fast because its all about the power on the road that counts. and james you will batter your time on the strip in your car as they say its all about the driver not just the car and i know you can drive mate

That's Cool, and may account for the diff - but I'm almost certain it was pretty much the same rpm for both peak power readouts
