The stops arrived from Volvo the next day and were promptly fitted by my local Volvo independent, and the problem is sorted, although with slightly reduced steering lock.

To make things worse the garage thought i would be offering them the work and said it aint worth doing mate would cost £700+ to repair as the timing belt needs replacing new gasket set plus silly little bits and pieces not worth it mate it is an old motor Dec 1999 and shes done 200.000 so its just worn out past its sell by
Good job im doing it my self then headset new headbolts and timing belt kit £220 then my time ok will need antifreeze some new hose clipsbit of paint to tidy up block when head is off and a new torque wrench as my old one is busted still under 300 notes so £400 labour dont think so will add pics as i go along

I've tried fitting LED indicator bulbs to my S60 as they look fantastic and I'm really unhappy with the lack of brightness from my silver filament bulbs. Unfortunately, the bloody car doesn't like the LEDs and causes a rapid flash with a bulb out warning! Is there anyway around this? I dropped into HIDS4U today to discuss and they do a replacement relay to sort the issue but from what I can tell, the S60 doesn't have a relay for the indicators!

On another note, while I was at HIDS4U they told me about their diesel tuning. I'm not normally a fan of 'tuning boxes' and have advised others to steer clear in the past, but after talking to them face to face, these guys really know what they're talking about. This isn't your usual cheap Charlie plug and play eBay box of resistors, it seems like a really good piece of (mappable) kit! What do you think??

Have just changed to led for rear indicators without any problem on my 98 V70 R. On replacing the stop lights with led this brings on the blown bulb warning light on the dash, however if only one led bulb is in place with standard, no dash warning shows.
Any ideas on a remedy please?

Hi Guys i'm not very happy with the performance of my 98 v70r awd auto, compared to my 2.0 ltr saab 270bhp it is not as fast.
I've had over 50 Volvos mainly auto , 740, 760, 780, t5, t6, turbos but they never seem to be fast, is it that the auto is much slower than the manual?
The car at present has a full 3inch sports cat exhaust , a IPD boost controller, and a HLM 304 ecu remap, and it just can't equal the Saab for performance, it seems to have a lot of top end power when you use the power, the wheels never spin.
I don't want to start any arguements, will the car respond better with the traction switched off?
I have never adjusted the wastegate, will that help?
Regards Julian
